The primary purpose of this site is to gather and relay information about the problem of Video Game Addiction for those interested in the subject, those who suffer from a game addiction or those wishing to prevent or break a gaming addiction. As a gamer, I have a different perspective on the subject. I approach it with an open mind firstly and relate to articles and the issue itself from the point of view of a gamer who has not only experienced gaming addiction first hand, but currently deal with those currently experiencing it.

I do believe in Video Game Addiction, but at the same time I see the phrase applied to situations that I would not consider addiction. When you lump any social issue resulting from video game playing under the label of "Gaming Addiction", you diminish the weight of the issue, which is not good because it is not an issue to be ignored. Not all gamers are addicted to gaming, just like not everyone who drinks is alcoholic.

Here at VideoGameAddiction.net I want to explore the issue as I see it from my point of view while at the same time providing information and resources to others who wish to learn more or need help.
